WeldGalaxy Presented at Augmented Reality/Automation Event

Tue, 02 February, 2021

The WeldGalaxy Project was one of several topics for discussion held at a special online event held by TWI Ltd.

The event, ‘Future Trends in Augmented Reality and Automation,’ took place on 27 January 2021 with 92 people attending live on the day.

The digital interactive forum on the use of augmented reality technologies discussed how professionals are increasingly utilising multimedia technologies that can enhance both engagement and effectiveness, particularly in a training environment.

The disruption caused by Covid-19 has delivered an additional rapid and, probably, permanent rise in the use of such methods – both in authoring and delivering training.

The development of “immersive” technologies has extended the scope of this trend even further, with the learner being placed at the centre of their learning experience. Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are two key tools emerging.

The online event included a number of presentations alongside TWI’s Geoff Melton discussing WeldGalaxy and you can see a video recording of the event here.
